Tori Amos, the witch
I love being a woman, I love it. I wouldn’t trade it by either of these ridiculous stereotypes today: “the career woman”, who’s this ball busting chick, and then there’s “the tart”, who doesn’t have a brain in her head and crawls out of SUV’s with no knickers on and usually is, you know, a celebrity. It’s all just boring.
If you want to survive it, you have to know how to play that chess game. I’m not saying that it’s fair, it’s not fair. But if you wanna win, you can’t think about is it fair or not, you just have to say “OK, checkmate, motherfucker!”.
You be 43 and have a child and get letters from 22 year old boys and you tell me that it’s degrading. It’s hot, you kidding? I’m the same age as Johnny Depp and Brad Pitt and in Hollywood they’re not casting women their age as their romantic lover. So, I think it’s absolutely imperative and I don’t need you, my dahrling, to tell me that. You’re a nice guy, but I don’t need it. Cause I have to do it myself.
